What can you do with a handheld computer?

Back when 3Com debuted the first Palm Pilot, there wasn't a lot you could do with it by today's standards -- track your phone numbers, appointments and perhaps download some games or software through your computer. These days however, personal digital assistants (PDAs) are beginning to merge with other devices creating a whole new world of possibilities.

When you cross a PDA whith a mobile phone, you get a computer that can wirelessly interact with the office's network or web site from any remote location. Think of the possibilities of this.

When you cross a PDA with a scanner, you can get an inexpensive inventory management system which can link up to your office network (click here to see an example of the Bar Pilot we created).

There are many more examples including the fusion of GPS (Global Positioning System) into a PDA. A delivery company would use this to track its cargo and the drivers would have directions and instant notifications for delivery and drop off points. They could even add a scanner on the PDA to track individual items.

There are a slew of different types of PDAs out there, just as there are many desktop computers to choose from. The hardware is out there, and it's inexpensive.

Database Solutions has proven experience in programming PDAs. We can integrate the technology provided on todays generation of PDAs with your companys data.

Let us help you find the right hardware and design the right software to compliment your current company's data infrastructure.
